Easter in KidPoint

This Easter season in KidPoint, we’re inviting kids to experience the greatest story ever told—the story of Jesus, our promised King and Savior!

Through Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday, kids will discover who Jesus is, what He has done for them, and why He changes everything! Our goal is for kids to understand that Jesus is the King God promised, the Savior who gave His life for us, and the risen Lord who invites each of us to follow Him.

As kids engage with these powerful truths, they’ll be given the opportunity to reflect on Jesus’ love and begin (or continue!) a personal relationship with Him—choosing to follow Him as Lord of their lives!

Our memory verse for this Easter series reminds kids of the heart of the gospel and the reason we celebrate:
“Here is love. It is not that we loved God. It is that he loved us and sent his Son to give his life to pay for our sins.” — 1 John 4:10, NIRV

Each week, elementary-aged kids will explore these truths and Scriptures together:

Week 1: Jesus is King! (Palm Sunday – Zechariah 9:9; Matthew 21:1–11; Mark 11:1–11; Luke 19:28–40; John 12:12–19)
Kids will learn that Jesus entered Jerusalem as the promised King—humble, loving, and sent by God! We’ll talk about how Jesus isn’t just a King from a story, but a King we can choose to follow with our lives today.

Week 2: Jesus is alive! (Easter – John 19:16–20:22; Romans 5:8; Romans 10:9–10)
Kids will celebrate the incredible truth that Jesus didn’t stay in the grave! They’ll learn that Jesus willingly gave His life for our sins and rose again, showing His power over sin and death—and offering us new life through Him.

Our prayer is that this Easter season helps kids not only know the Easter story, but understand why it matters personally. We’re believing that kids will encounter the deep love of Jesus and grow in confidence that He is their King, their Savior, and their forever friend!

Family Table Talk Questions
Use these questions at the table, in the car, or before bed to keep the conversation going at home:

  • Why do you think people were so excited to welcome Jesus as King on Palm Sunday?
  • What does it mean to you that Jesus gave His life and rose again for us?
  • How can we show with our words or actions that we choose to follow Jesus this week?
