We are so excited to share that this month in KidPoint, your kids are exploring one of our FAVORITE series: KidPoint at the Movies! You might be wondering, “Are the kids really just watching movies in church?” And the answer is…kind of! Each week, we’re showing clips from some of our favorite movies to help kids see Biblical truths come to life and understand what God says about them.
This series is a reminder that we can see God everywhere—even in the movies your kids love to watch! Our memory verse this month comes from Colossians 1:16-17, and it reminds us just how big and powerful God is:
“All things have been created by him and for him. Before anything was created, he was already there. He holds everything together.” Colossians 1:16b-17, NIrV
Here’s what your kids are learning each week through the movies:
- Week 1 – Lilo & Stitch: God adopts us into His family! (K-5th: Ephesians 2:19-22 & Galatians 4:4-7. Early Childhood: 2 Samuel 9.)
- Week 2 – Monsters Inc: God’s love makes fear disappear! (K-5th: 1 John 4:18 & 2 Timothy 1:7. Early Childhood: Mark 4:35–41.)
- Week 3 – Toy Story: God made us to work together! (K-5th: 1 Corinthians 12:1-27. Early Childhood: Luke 5:17–26)
- Week 4 – Up: God’s plan is always good! (K-5th: Jeremiah 29:11 & Romans 8:28. Early Childhood: Genesis 12.)
- Week 5 – The Grinch: God’s love makes me brand new! (K-5th: 2 Corinthians 5:17 & Acts 9:1-19. Early Childhood: Acts 9:1–19)
Our hope is that your children leave KidPoint this month understanding that God is big, God is with them, and His love shows up everywhere—even in the stories they love on the screen. And as they see God in the movies, it can help them recognize His presence in everyday life—at home, at school, and in their friendships.
