This month in KidPoint, we’re joining our whole church family in the Forgotten Virtues series—a purposeful exploration of character traits that often slip from view in today’s world, now brought to life for our kids in ways they can understand and apply!
Our memory verse for August, Philippians 1:27, says, “No matter what happens, live in a way that brings honor to the good news about Christ.” (NIRV). This isn’t just for adults—it’s a call for all ages! Our kids are discovering that our words, actions, and choices should reflect what Jesus is like, AND that the good news of what He’s done changes us from the inside out so we can become more like Him! And though virtues like honor, humility, kindness, grace/mercy, and gratitude may seem small, they carry big weight in how we treat others and follow Jesus.
Throughout August, we’re helping kids see how these virtues can become part of their everyday lives. Through Bible stories, fun activities, and real-life examples, they’re learning how to rely on God’s help to treat others well and follow Jesus wholeheartedly!
Family Table Talk Questions:
- Which of the “forgotten virtues” do you think is the easiest for you? Which is the hardest?
- How could you show one of these virtues at school or at home this week?
- Why do you think God cares about the way we treat others?
Don’t forget to check out this month’s God Time Cards to keep the conversation going at home all week long!
