March in KidPoint: Disciples

This month in KidPoint, we’re helping kids discover what it truly means to be a disciple of Jesus—not just someone who knows about Him, but someone who follows Him, learns from Him, and lives like Him.

Through stories from the gospels, kids will see how Jesus personally invited ordinary people to follow Him and how their lives were transformed as they chose to walk with Him and make Jesus the Lord of their lives. Our goal is for kids to understand that following Jesus brings joy and changes how we live and love others every day!

Our memory verse for the month reminds kids of one of the clearest signs of being a disciple: “If you love one another, everyone will know you are my disciples.” — John 13:35, NIRV

Each week, elementary-aged kids will explore what discipleship looks like through these weekly truths and Scriptures:

Week 1: Jesus invites me to follow Him! (The Twelve Disciples – Matthew 4:18–22; Matthew 9:9; John 1:43; John 1:45–46; Matthew 11:28–30)
Kids will learn that Jesus invites everyone to follow Him, right where they are! Following Jesus begins with saying “yes” to Him.

Week 2: Point others to Jesus!
(John the Baptist & Andrew – John 1:35–42)
Kids will discover that disciples don’t keep Jesus to themselves! When we follow Jesus, we can help others know Him too.

Week 3: When I follow Jesus, my life changes!
(Matthew – Matthew 9:9–13)
Kids will see how choosing to follow Jesus leads to real change on the inside and shows up in how we live on the outside!

Week 4: Following Jesus means loving others! (A New Command – John 13:34–35)
Kids will learn that love is the clearest way to show we belong to Jesus! When we love others the way Jesus loves us, it points people back to Him.

Our hope is that this series helps kids see that following Jesus is more than something they learn at church—it’s a way of life! We’re praying that kids experience the joy that comes from following Jesus and discover that His way leads to an abundant life full of love, purpose, and hope that naturally points others to Him!
