Missions FAQ

Who can go on a mission trip?

We encourage every single person to take a mission trip. Each trip has it’s own age limitation. You can contact the office to see if the trip you are interested in has an age limit.

What does the trip cost include?

The trip cost is all-inclusive and covers the flight, all meals (not including meals in the airport or Starbucks run), ministry supplies, transportation on the ground, and lodging. It does not include passport fees, snacks, or souvenirs.

Is my trip refundable?

Your downpayment is not refundable. If due to unforeseen circumstances you are unable to attend a trip you have put money toward you will be refunded the whole amount minus the downpayment. If flights have already been purchased you are responsible for paying the penalties associated with the airlines. Some exceptions do apply. See a missions staff member for more details.

Can my trip be transferred to someone else if I am unable to attend?

In most cases yes.

What are the payment deadlines?

To help us and yourself stay on track we follow a 90/60/30 days format:

  • 90 days before the trip you should be 50% funded.
  • 60 days before the trip you should have your passport and proper paperwork in place.
  • 30 days before the trip you should be 100% funded towards your trip.

Can I travel by myself and meet my group at at our location or can I stay longer at my destination?

Unfortunately no. Think of missions trip as a deployment. The whole group deploys together and comes back together. We also believe that traveling together and experiencing that moment builds stronger bonds between the group members.

I’ve missed a payment deadline, can I still attend this trip?

We determine each trip case by case. We ask that you call the office and talk to a staff member.

Does LifePoint Church offer scholarships or group fundraisers?

No, LifePoint does not provide scholarships. Each team member is expected to raise all funds. We encourage the team members to personally contribute and raise his or her own financial support in order to go on a short-term mission trip. In addition, we suggest fundraising by writing letters to friends and family sharing the goal of the trip and the financial requirements to make the trip happen. We highly encourage each participant to be creative during the fundraising process. We are happy to provide you with some ideas.

I really want to serve in a missions trip, but things will show up on my background check. Is it possible for me to still serve?

We strive to provide a safe environment to those around us. However, we are also fully aware that we all have a fallen nature. We desire each individual to answer the great commission of Jesus Christ. We ask that you still apply and we will determine each applicant case by case. For trips such as Lonesome Dove, it is absolutely necessary to be able to pass a background check.

Can we get a discount if we travel as a family?

LifePoint Church does not make any profit through mission trips. The cost that is being charged to you is the absolute lowest cost possible to travel and for accommodations.

What if I don’t have a passport?

Apply now for a passport if you don’t have one.

If your passport expires less than six months after your departure date, you will need to renew your passport as soon as possible. Additionally, if you have a non-U.S. passport, you are responsible for finding out if a visa is required for you to travel to a specific country.

How do I donate to someone’s trip?

You may pay for a person’s trip in three forms- checks, cash and online. If you are writing a check please write the participants name in the memo line and if a payment is made online on your behalf please let the us know this way we can give credit to the right person.
